Scott Glass | President

Scott Glass is the President of CBLA. He is a 2L staff editor with the Columbia Law Review and a Teaching Assistant for Professor Thomas Merrill’s Property class. He also serves as the Vice President of Finance for Columbia’s Federalist Society chapter, an Admitted Student Ambassador, and a 1L Peer Mentor.
 
Scott spent his 1L summer with the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to law school, Scott spent three years in the audit practice at Deloitte in Parsippany, New Jersey, where he obtained his CPA license.
 
Scott is originally from State College, Pennsylvania. He graduated cum laude from Bucknell University in 2013 with a B.S. in Business Administration after majoring in Accounting. He was also a four-year member of the varsity baseball team.

Mathew Saiontz | Vice-President

Mathew Saiontz is Vice President of CBLA. Mathew serves on the staff of the Columbia Business Law Review and is Co-Director of the Harlem Tutorial Project as well as a member of Devinimus.
 
During his 1L summer, Mathew worked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Nicholas G. Garaufis in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Prior to attending Columbia Law School, Mathew spent one year working as a litigation paralegal in the New York office of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison.   
 
Mathew is originally from Miami, Florida. He graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in Economics.

Fabi Vega | Vice-President

Fabi Vega is Vice President of CBLA. She serves on the staff of the Columbia Law Review, and is also a member of the Columbia Law Women's Association, and Empowering Women of Color.
 
During her 1L summer, Fabi worked as an intern in the Division of Enforcement of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in New York. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a litigation legal assistant at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.
 
Fabi grew up in Tustin, California. She graduated from Harvard College in 2013 with an A.B. in History and Government.

Michael D'Andrea | Treasurer

Michael D'Andrea is the CBLA Treasurer.  He serves on the Columbia Business Law Review and is also the treasurer for DeVinimus.
 
During his 1L summer, Mike worked in the Securities and Exchange Commission Student Honors Program - Enforcement Division.  Prior to attending Columbia Law School, Mike spent two years in New York as a CPA within Ernst & Young's International Tax and Financial Services Office.
 
Mike grew up in Montclair, NJ. He graduated from Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration with a Masters in Taxation in 2014, and the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, cum laude, in 2013 where he earned a B.S. concentrating in Accounting, Finance, and earning a minor in Philosophy.

Andrew Astore | Director of Programming

Andrew Astore is a Director of Programming for CBLA. He also serves on the staff of the Columbia Business Law Review and is Co-President of the Columbia Negotiation Association.
 
During his 1L summer, Andrew was a judicial intern for Judge Marber at the Nassau County Supreme Court. Prior to enrolling at Columbia Law School, Andrew worked as a corporate legal assistant at Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
 
Andrew grew up in Lindenhurst, New York, and graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics.

David Beizer is a Director of Programming for CBLA. He also serves on the staff of Columbia Law Review and competed in the Latino/a Law Students Association Moot Court, for which he is serving as a 2L Editor.
 
During his 1L summer, David was an intern for the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission in New York. Prior to law school, he worked at Alvarez & Marsal as a consultant.
 
David is originally from Forest Hills, New York. He graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a B.A. in International Relations.

Caelainn Carney is a Director of Programming for CBLA.  Caelainn also serves as a staffer on Columbia Business Law Review and is a member of the law school’s running club, Running from the Law.
 
During her 1L summer Caelainn was an intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey.  She has also interned in the New York Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission and NYU’s Center on Law and Security.
 
Caelainn grew up in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  Caelainn attended college at the University of Virginia, where she graduated with degrees in English and Economics.

Allison Giebisch is a Director of Programming for CBLA. She also serves on the staff of the Columbia Business Law Review and as President of the Columbia Urban and Real Estate Society. She is a member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
 
During her 1L summer, Allison worked as a Summer Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in Boston.
 
Allison is originally from Woodbridge, CT. She graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 2016 with an A.B. in East Asian Studies and Government.

Caitlin McGough is a Director of Programming for CBLA. She also serves as Vice President of the National Security Law Society, Treasurer of Harlem Tutorial Project, and staff editor of Columbia Human Rights Law Review.
 
During her 1L summer, Caitlin was an intern in the Counterterrorism Section at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
 
Caitlin grew up in Manhattan Beach, California. She graduated with distinction from Duke University with a B.S. in Economics and a minor in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.

During her 1L summer, Tory worked as a Summer Associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in New York. Prior to enrolling at Columbia Law School, Tory spent two years working as a paralegal at Grais & Ellsworth LLP.
 
Tory grew up in Ramona, California. She graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in Politics, summa cum laude, where she was also a four-year member of the Varsity softball team.

Taylor Wood | Mentorship Director

Taylor Wood is Mentorship Director of CBLA.  Taylor also serves on the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law, and is President of the Columbia Law Women’s Association.
 
During her 1L summer, Taylor worked as an Extern in Judge Sandra Ikuta's chambers at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to attending Columbia Law School, Taylor spent a year hiking and backpacking abroad.
 
Taylor grew up in Los Alamitos, CA. She graduated from The University of Alabama, with Honors, with a BS in Economics and Finance, and a minor in Philosophy.

Shannon Kahlden is the Director of Membership of CBLA.  She also serves on the Columbia Business Law Review and is a member of the Columbia Law Women’s Association and Columbia Negotiation Association. 
 
During her 1L summer, Shannon worked as a Corporate Summer Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York.
 
Shannon is originally from Sugar Land, Texas.  She graduated with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in political communication, minor in government, and certificate in business foundations.

Ori Oren is Director of Communications for CBLA. He is a member of the Columbia Business Law Review, the Society for Law, Science and Technology, and the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Society.

During his 1L summer, Ori worked at Bridgewater Associates in Westport, Connecticut. Before coming to Columbia Law School, Ori was a senior copywriter at Rauxa, an ad agency in NYC. He graduated from the NYU Stern School of Business in 2011 (undergraduate).

Ty Balzer | JD/MBA Representative

Ty Balzer is the JD/MBA representative for CBLA. He is also a student editor for the Foundation Moot Court Program, and is active in the Columbia Law School Military Association and the Federalist Society.
 
During his 1L summer, Ty was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of California, in its Major Frauds and Special Prosecutions Section. Prior to attending Columbia Law School, he served in California, Afghanistan, and at the Pentagon as a public affairs officer in the United States Marine Corps.
 
Ty is from La Crosse, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Dallas with a B.A. in History.
